Some re 'leadership' get into the minutiae of different models of leadership for an HMD. I didn't find that so necessary or helpful. The case examples used to illustrate their topics were generally good and well anchored in the reality of hospice medical director role. Some of the issues were more or less relevant depending on the scope/size of the hospice you're working in. But even if you are the medical director of a small ADC hospice the patterns for managing larger teams are conceptually interesting. 12345 Excellent overview of Major Considerations Maria Shindler, MD Oct 1, 2019 Report Abuse This book is an excellent source as I begin my journey as hospice medical director : well written , well organized and succinct chapters provide a broad overview of high yield topics including Medicare nuances , as well as crafting a Certification of Terminal Illness note . I’m extremely pleased with this purchase and will certainly be referencing it often . 12345 I expect this to be a great book despite small annoyances that will be meaningless to most of you... Beth Olearczyk, MD, HMDC Mar 28, 2019 Report Abuse I am always peeved when someone rates an item based on something that really does not have anything to do with the item…like giving a five star review for quick shipping, or a one star review for slow shipping. But here I am, about to do it. I was accidentally sent the wrong book, the primer of palliative care, instead of the book I ordered. AAHPM was great about it when I called to let them know; they sent me out the correct book, and a shipping label to return the primer. My only grievance here will be completely irrelevant to most everyone reading this, but it is my grievance now, as I have been awakened two nights in a row by my email going off asking me to review this book. (I’m on-call, and my calls come through email… I know this is strange but it’s how it is. I’m not sure why emails asking for book reviews need to come out after most people should be sleeping? But there is likely some good reason.) Anyway, I only received the book a couple of days ago due to the shipping error, and thus, I have not had a chance to read it yet. I do own a copy of an earlier version, which I found very helpful, and this is why I ordered the updated edition. So, forgive me for sending this grumpy, irrelevant review, but it appears that I will receive an email every night asking for a review until I complete one, so here it is. 12345 Great resource Faustino A Gonzalez, MD, FACP, FAAHPM Jun 27, 2018 Report Abuse We use it as a resource for the administrative portion of our HPM fellowship. 1 - 4 of 4 select 10 per page20 per page50 per page 1
